My son has been wanting to go to New Zealand for years now, and that's something he finally cross off his own bucket list (I wonder where he got that wanderlust from, hmmmmm.... must be from his dad).
FYI, New Zealand is NOT a country where you get claim your GST back, and that tax is hiiiiiiigh. Not a lot of shopping was done because of that, and I wonder why they don't encourage more frivolous tourist spending, like in Europe where I got aaaaalllllll my taxes back. I had so many items I had to SHIP them to my house in spite of bringing a half-empty suitcase for souvenirs. You know what I do when I know I get my taxes back at the airport? I do things like buy Hermes, Louboutins, and fur coats. Yes, I literally bought fur (in my defense, the Euro was weak and my US dollar was strong and that felt like all of Europe just went on clearance sale). Obviously, for me, it's the principle of the thing. Not every tourist is a total lush like me though, and I'm certain that the 15% non-refundable GST is doing New Zealand's tourist economy zero favors.
Anyway, time for all the videos I couldn't successfully upload until now!
We'll start with August's Material World box! For those who are new here, it's like Stitch Fix, except exclusively designer and premium brands, but it doesn't cost more than Stitch Fix because all of the items are consigned! Affordable designer clothes, often still new with tags, at a big discount. I also love Stitch Fix for more casual/everyday items, but Material World is my favorite (see aforementioned confession of being a total lush). Grab your own box HERE to see what they're all about, or if you are interested in selling your clothing to them (you don't have to subscribe to their service to consign).
Here's what I got:
The blog is back to its normal Monday to Friday posts, so I'll see you tomorrow! Enjoy your day off, US readers, and if that doesn't apply to you, then I hope you're at least getting decent holiday pay! Later!
