Hey Petite Fashionistas! I just wanted to first point out something that all of us shorties can use to our advantage.
Crop tops have been "in", unfortunately for most of us over the age of 19 and for any of us with children... even affected winter sweaters. Yes, in my recent traveling to Nordic countries I have seen women both young and old, wearing boxy cropped sweaters. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a sweater?
Anyway, since being petite usually coincides with having a short torso, it's actually really easy for us to wear crop tops without showing off a lot of skin. No judgment from me if you love showing off your stomach. But what if you want to take that top and wear it to the office?
Easy: HIGH WAIST SKIRT. Or pants. Whatever.
The thing is, because we're short, a cropped top and high-waisted bottoms, basically covers us up completely. There is no gap for me, and I'm 5'3", which is only BARELY petite, so my shorter followers can easily pair high waists with cropped shirts without worry.
So if you like a shirt, and it's labeled as "cropped", pfffft... not a real problem for us. We can work with that. (And we also have the versatility of wearing it as a crop top too if we want, but simply wearing a normal or low rise bottom. We have options! Yay for being short!)
Now on to the thrifty part, which will be short. Basically, I found that great crop top for a mere $6 on Poshmark. It's a top I had been looking for, but it sold out in my size at Express, but someone was selling their XS, new with tags on Poshmark so of course I snatched it up. It's a great place to find mid-end and low-end brands, but I find that their high-end stuff, the sellers tend to overprice those. Some are even asking for full retail, which is insane. I mean, if I wanted to pay the full retail price, I'd just go buy it in store, and then not have to worry about it arriving in terrible/used condition or even worse, fake. But as long as you're not shopping for designer anything on there, you'll find a good price. (And yes, I have enough designer goods that I can spot a fake online, and I do everyone a favor by reporting those. Jerks. Peddle your knock-offs in some dirty alley like the criminal you are).
