Maybe you've heard of Plunder, maybe you haven't... it's another one of those "direct sale" companies, and they sell vintage-inspired jewelry, at a pretty affordable price point (earrings start at $8).
I had never heard of them before until I was invited to one of those online Facebook parties. I usually find parties that try to sell me things, really obnoxious, and even more obnoxious when it's not even a real party because it's online.
But I saw one of the jewelry pieces, and I loved it.
So, the jewelry is definitely not luxury goods, which is perfect for me. $8 filigree earrings? Ship it. (Also, the shipping was really fast).
Before I show you the pieces I bought, can I just show you the really adorable packaging? I'm a sucker for cute boxes, and I love that they also included little bags for storage.
I purchased 3 pairs of earrings, and a necklace. The necklace was the most expensive piece, at $34. The earrings ranged in price from $8-14.
You might notice that 2 of the 4 pieces I bought are NOT Type 4, but I refashioned them into Type 4 pieces and I'll be posting a tutorial on how easy that is in the near future. I actually thought the gold earrings at the top were silver because of the lighting used on the online catalog, and my monitor settings (it wasn't just me, other people also thought they were silver at first glance). They are silver NOW though! (Check back for the tutorial within the next week or so.)
As for the quality? They are what you should expect at the price point. But they're cute, they have that vintage-throw-back feel, and the earrings are surprisingly lightweight. I almost exclusively wear stud earrings because 1). babies pull on earrings so I retired my dangly earrings a loooooong time ago, and 2). they are often painfully heavy.
But these feel like wearing nothing, and that alone makes them stand out. Plus I like the style. Some of the pieces are customizable too, and there are also religious/Christian/inspirational pieces as well if that is relevant to your lifestyle.
Verdict: If you want some fun, trendy, vintage-inspired jewelry without breaking the bank, find a Plunder representative and get shopping! I'm sure you have a friend of a friend who knows someone who sells this stuff.
