They're a skincare line with very simple packaging, and the names of the products sound like they came straight from the lab. Because they did. You don't have to guess what the active ingredients are, you're not paying extra for it to have some famous name brand on it, and you get a very affordable product with clinical effectiveness.
The incredibly reasonable price point and potency of the products is the reason why they don't stay in stock very long. These literally arrived this morning, so I have not yet tried the Granactive Retinoid 2% emulsion (for skin textural irregularities and sings of aging), since that is to be used as part of one's evening/PM skincare routine, but I immediately tried out the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% formula which is for blemishes, minimizing pores, and regulating sebum... because even though I'm 35, I still get pimples every now and then (if I were to guess, I'd say... oh, around every 28 days for some strange unknown reason).
I also put on the Matrixyl 10% + HA (a high-strength peptide formula for fine lines and wrinkles).
I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference in my skin. The Niacinamide formula seemed to instantly mattify my skin but without any drying, and my pores appeared visibly smaller, and have stayed that way so far (I put it on in the morning, and it is now 1pm as I am writing this). THe Matrixyl instantly diminished the fine lines and wrinkles on my face. That stuff is straight up like botox in a bottle, but without needles and botulism or the inability to have normal facial expressions.
I took a photo, but honestly I am still young being only 35, and I do take good care of my skin in general, so it's not going to look very dramatically different from my usual no-make-up selfies, but *I* definitely noticed a difference. It's not even just in how my skin LOOKS, but in how it FEELS too.
And I haven't even used the retinoid emulsion yet!
This stuff is incredibly effective, even upon first use. I am still a huge fan of my K-beauty skincare products, which are also very affordable and effective (THIS is the hyaluronic acid formula I use, FYI), but products from The Ordinary are definitely on par! One of the big issues I have with a lot of the luxury skincare items out here in the US is that they are usually really expensive, and I still use some of them because for a lot of things, I haven't found an equally effective affordable alternate (so I use Younique's Exfoliating and Detox masks because those are far and beyond the best I've tried so far), but for anything treating lines or wrinkles or to minimize pores... it's gotta be The Ordinary. Nothing else has even come CLOSE, and I've tried products that are more than $100 a bottle from major high-end brands, and they simply do not compare to what I've tried today.
Want to know exactly HOW affordable these products are?
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% formula... $5.90
The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA formula... $11.50
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion... $9.50

Thanks for visiting my blog, and I hope you found my product review helpful! I literally can not stop touching my skin right now. Good thing I'm at home, because I probably look like I'm on drugs right now.
See you tomorrow!
(P.S. I also bought their face primer for $4.90 and will be trying that out the next time I put on a full face of make up! I have high hopes)
