Purple lipstick! Does it get more bold than that? This is a lipstick color that I bought early on in my Dressing Your Truth journey, because lipstick that is an actual color is not something I've ever really worn. I've been wearing nude lipcolors since 1998 (and they're still my go-to, everyday color if I'm wearing lipstick). There is a purple lipstick sold in the DYT Type 4 store that I kind of wanted to try, but not for the price they are charging (after all, what if I hate it, and I just spent $16 + shipping for no reason?).
So I went to Target and spent $6 on this purple lipstick instead. It's definitely scary, coming out of the tube. Yikes.
But surprisingly enough, it suits me. Maybe in a little bit of that 90s goth sort of way, but without overdoing it. Not going to lie, I'm totally into it. Granted, with a color like this, I tend to tone down the rest of my outfit hardcore. I generally only wear this if I'm in solid black, or just black and white, and no patterns/prints. The lipstick color becomes the accessory.
Verdict? Definitely a great color and I recommend it on that basis alone. Great coverage is a bonus too, along with being easy to find basically anywhere, and being cheap. If this seems even remotely like a color you'd wear, buy it. Worst case is that you wasted six dollars, and have to mix this with some other color to get a wearable shade.
***Note: This is how the lipstick color looks on ME personally. Your own personal lip tone and coloring do play a part in how something will actually look on you. A caucasian woman wearing this color may have a different looking result, for example. Some women in the Dressing Your Truth group were surprised that on me, it does read as a purple color, but on them, it looked hot pink. Full disclosure, I paid for this out of my own pocket and do not receive anything for my review.
