Sadly, the colors are not as bold and highly pigmented as certain Instagram photos would have you believe, but for the price, it's definitely way better than drug store brands. But if you are used to high-end brands, this is going to disappoint. For $29 though, I think your expectations should be tempered *just a teensy bit*, right? If you normally use low or mid-range, you'll love this! The colors DO last a long time on your eyelids though. They definitely stay in place. But I also use Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer, so that might contribute to that.
I have some photos of my attempts at wearing eyeshadow. This is very much out of my comfort zone, and also I let my 6 year-old daughter choose some of the colors I would wear (to be filed under "Things I Immediately Regret"). The black and darker eyeshadow colors were chosen by me. The orange, yellow, blue, green, and hot pink? Yeah, that would be my 6-year-old. Either way, be kind; I am bad at this.
Let's start with the crazy bold colors first!
My favorite eyeshadow is NO eyeshadow, but on the rare occasion I choose to wear it, I usually go with a generic, dark, smokey-eye look. Like this:
I will say that having high quality brushes does make a difference with application and color. My cheap brushes simply didn't transfer as much of the pigment as my expensive brushes, and that probably holds true no matter what brand of eyeshadow you use. This brand also makes brushes, but I have not tried them.
In a nutshell, I like this product. I'll probably NEVER run out (since I am not a regular eye-make-up-wearer), but if I do, I'll be rebuying from Karity.
Full disclosure: I paid for this out of my own pocket and this is not one of my sponsored posts. I receive zero kickbacks if you buy this product or not. I am 0% financially invested in this. I will always tell you if I've been reimbursed, paid, or received an item for free to review it, and regardless of whether I receive something for free or am paid, I am always honest about the product.
