When you're vertically challenged like I am, paying attention to proportion is so much more important. We don't have that much room to mess up. Even with things like necklines and necklaces. Being petite means that I have a shorter neck, and that is so much less forgiving of mistakes. Don't even get me started on turtlenecks (just say no to all of them!). Here is a chart I found that has been immensely useful to me in knowing which necklines don't require embellishing, and which necklaces to wear with other neckline styles.
I hope this is useful to you too! It doesn't seem like it matters that much but it's made necklaces a much less overthought, overwrought experience. No more over-analyzing or just trying on 20 items to figure out which works. Ain't nobody got time for that.
