It's still a sad, soggy, rain-logged excuse for spring out here on the Eastside of Seattle, but that isn't going to stop me from trying to dress for the season anyway. This photo was unfortunately taken in the reflection of a downtown building window (really high-tech photography goes into this blog /scarcasm). But you get the basic gist.
White denim seems really brave considering that I have 4 kids, but since I taught my kids to not be awful little miscreants, they stayed clean. I don't know why everyone thinks "white" and "parenthood" can't coexist. 99% of the time, when I stain my clothes, it's my own damn fault. I can't be trusted to hold my own cup of coffee and not spill it (you'll notice I have a lid on my coffee cup here, because it's basically the adult version of a sippy cup). These white skinnies I have on are Helmut Lang, and quite possibly the most comfortable pair of jeans I've EVER worn. Better than my 7 for All Mankinds, Paige, Citizens of Humanity, and Genetic demin. It blows all of them out of the water. Also, I did not get them hemmed. That perfect length is simply great for us shorter women! (Helmut Lang IS one of my favorite petite-friendly designers, though these jeans are NOT petite. For reference, I am 5'3").
Silver heels are by Louis Vuitton, and I think add a freshness to the white denim instead of my usual choice of black. But this is me, so of course I'm also wearing black. The Nanette Lepore faux leather jacket has become a favorite piece lately, so I'm wearing that, and my oldest Hermes scarf, Les Cles. Sloppy bun, laptop bag, and coffee, and I'm ready to work work work work work.
Here are some more photos of the outfit, that AREN'T taken in a downtown building window reflection.
I forgot to mention that the top I'm wearing underneath the jacket is a workout shirt, a Fabletics top that is basic black and seamless but has some cool fishnet-like details on the neckline and shoulders. You can see it here. (Also, I swapped out the laptop bag for the Republic of Aces bag for dinner and drinks later. The literal "letting of the hair down").
Happy Hump Day everyone! I'm off to the gym now! Tomorrow: a review of my Lively bra and underwear purchase! Don't worry, there aren't going to be any inappropriate photos. No one needs to see my blindingly white butt. See you soon!
