I make a lot of references to Dressing Your Truth, but you might have noticed that I sometimes flub the rules. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it... doesn't. This outfit is a good example of when it doesn't. It really doesn't.
This outfit has a lot of Type 3 in it, from the color of the pants (from the Gap), which I actually do wear with Type 4 outfits, because we DO *sometimes* get burgundy, but only if it's iridescent with black, but I don't personally think that I look any different in flat burgundy versus iridescent-with-black burgundy, so I flub that rule. (I do what I want! *sassy snapping*)
I wore it with a leopard print clutch wallet (Kate Spade), black leather booties with large buckles (Hush Puppies), a black leather jacket (Asos), and aviator sunglasses (Betsey Johnson). The gloves are just my running gloves because it was cold out.
It's not that this outfit is bad per se... it's just bad on me.
I did notice that the people who complimented me that day were all Type 3 though (they may not know they're Type 3, but I do). But I know they weren't complimenting ME as much as they were complimenting the clothes because it's something they would wear, not that it looked flattering on me specifically. Know the difference, ladies.
This is a short post because I need to get back to configuring my capsule wardrobe for Europe and my work trip to San Francisco, so au revoir! A demain!
