If my outfit makes me a look a little more severe and harsh, that was very much the goal. I think I often veer a little too far into "fun" and "light" when it comes to my fashion choices. The second I landed in Paris and checked in to my hotel, I decided I was just going to go full-blown Type 4, red lipstick and all.
I also wanted a chance to wear the new white shirt/tunic that I bought from the Malene Birger boutique in Copenhagen. I like playing with proportion, and I noticed that layering really long shirt is very popular in literally every European city I visited. Instead of throwing a sweater over this, as I often saw in Amsterdam and Oslo, I decided to wear it with my black Helmut Lang blazer instead. I paired it the only pair of pants I had, my jeans by Genetic Denim, and my leather boots by Hush puppies.
I did bring my Younique lip stain (color is "Sultry"), and brought it specifically with Paris in mind.
The hot pink leather satchel behind me, is a little something I picked up in central Amsterdam, and it fits my laptop so I'll be using it as an alternate work bag too.
I wore my wool peacoat (Torn by Ronny Kobo) and a scarf by Hermes (the design is Les Cles), which you'll see in the photo below.
But my secondary aside, here are some super cheesy tourist photos! All those years I studied French finally paid off when I did things like ask how much something cost, order food, and tell the uber driver which hotel I'm going to, and I definitely couldn't use google translate for any of those simple phrases and questions, nope; I needed 4 fucking years of high school and university language studies of course. /sarcasm
