I have spent all day filing my taxes, which doesn't help either, and it turns out that my daughters all stayed home from school today erroneously... as in they told me they had no school on Monday, and I just... BELIEVED them, and they genuinely believed it too (they were actually NOT trying to pull one over on me). I never actually went to go look at their online school calendar to verify because I've never had to before. My oldest is usually really on top of things. They didn't have school on Friday, and then she said, "And we don't have school on Monday either!" and I just thought, "Cool, 4-day weekend." and didn't think about it again until around noon when the school attendance office called. #parentingfail
But, in spite of my outfit being lame today, I will share my birthday weekend outfit! I went a bit over the top glam, but with a ridiculous birthday hat, because I'm 9 parts serious, and 1 part ridiculous, at all times.
Here's what I wore:
- Party Hat- made by me in 5 minutes with leftover scrapbook materials because my kids stole all my pre-bought party hats.
- Dress: Helmut Lang
- Coat: fox fur coat I bought in Oslo, Norway
- Clutch: Kate Spade
- Shoes: Christian Louboutin
- Bracelet: DYT
- Earrings: purchased in a boutique in downtown Portland, Maine
- Stockings: rhinestone fishnets from Amazon
I ate too much, drank too much, but mostly just wandered around downtown in my 4.5" heels, catching Pokemon because I'm a mature responsible adult.
I also have no idea who even played in the superbowl, let alone won it, and that's a great feeling. I am not a fan of sportsball. And my birthday tends to fall on SportsBall weekend, which generally ruins it for me, but this year, I have apparently unfollowed enough of my Facebook friends that I didn't see any stupid messages about it. IT WAS THE BEST GIFT EVER.
Have a great Monday, and be sure to check back for some posts I'm working on that will be featuring Valentine's Day outfit ideas, and different ways to restyle a kimono top. <3
