I'm not sure how many of you are techies here, but at some point my computer (probably my OS) deleted the master boot record, which is what is necessary for Windows to start up and for my computer to work at all.
This time my computer shitting the bed wasn't a hardware issue; it was definitely a software issue, and no one I know can figure out how or why that happened, except that I just have the worst luck with electronics (remember that time I had to go 5 weeks without a freakin' PHONE?! And no, I don't have a landline because I'm not 87 years old. It felt medieval).
Time for data recovery, yaaaaaay... *cries*
