Definitely the worst vacation ever.
But, the house is looking great, everything is organized, I'm sorting all of my clothing by color (yes, that brings me joy), and with the kids gone, I can go and cook all of my comfort-foods my Korean mother used to make, like 비빔냉면. (They don't have the same cravings for Korean food that I have, and it's nice to make things the spiciness level that I am accustomed to for once!)
Somehow, I think when other people do "staycations", theirs aren't full of deep-cleaning and chores. But I find it immensely satisfying to look back and see the results of all my labor afterwards. I grew up in a disgusting pig sty as a child (a byproduct of poverty is too many of us living in way too little space), and my mother used to blame all of us kids for being messy. But *I* was not messy. I hated being blamed for things I didn't do (and I was literally the only one that ever bothered to clean our nasty bathroom. I can't imagine how filthy everything was when I left home). Funny how my "messy" self never had a messy dorm room or messy apartment, and even with 4 kids of my own, I don't have a messy house. Now my sister's place is a totally different story! (Sharing a bedroom with her growing up was chaos).
At some point I'll definitely share some photos of my house after all the maintenance and projects get done! But tomorrow will be a post all about Besame Cosmetics! If it's a brand you've wanted to try, definitely check out my haul. I made it a point to purchase a variety of products to get a feel for the brand as a whole.
See you tomorrow!
