Let's talk about the I Love My Life event!!!
First off, here's what I wore for the first half of the day, because I'm crazy and did lunch-time wardrobe changes:
After lunch, it was time for a quick wardrobe change, some pokemon catching, and a run-in with my FAVORITE Type 1 of all time (if you're guessing that it's Rachel Carrales-Lopez, you get a gold star). She's my DYT bestie. I don't care if you think she's YOUR DYT bestie. I called dibs and you can't have her. She's already been claimed. Fight me.
Here is what I changed into, by the way. Unfortunately I didn't get many full-body shots or outfit shots... or even selfies during this event. I was actually just having a lot of fun being present and in the moment!
I also actually participated in the Type 4 clothing swap this year, instead of having panic attacks in my hotel room and ironing a gigantic dress. I really felt like I got to talk to connect with the T4s.
And speaking of connecting with the T4s... Mandi Lusk-Sturgeon, a T4 who is also a hairstylist, CUT MY HAIR IN THE BATHROOM, guys! With my permission of course. She actually offered to do it a few days prior to the event, and not just for me, but for several of us T4s. That's right, I CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF. And a lot of it too.
One of the things that was insightful at the event was that the experts did a more thorough breakdown of the 3 x 5 formula on dressing, and the Yin and Yang combo and how to get it right, based on our dominant and secondary energy types. I am a 4/1, so I'm Yin, Yang, Yang, Yin. A very balanced type. Or a very bipolar type, depending on how you want to look at it! We were given some examples of our keywords, both yin AND yang keywords, for our style, to help refine and personalize it. I haven't quite chosen which keywords I think resonate with me, and which ones would be yin versus yang, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
Me? I am nowhere close to that. I mean, I run marathons for fun, people. I find yoga boring as all get out, I fall asleep trying to meditate, and I sit on a ball and bounce at my desk instead of using a chair. I am high-energy. I am competitive, ambitious, I get things done. I completed all of my major life goals by age 28. I power-leveled through all of that. I waste no time. My life is a well-oiled machine.
We're really going to put me right next to the kid who likes to pretend he's a slug?
Oh hell no.
Where I'd place myself is right after 3/2. My husband is a 3/2 and yes, he gets more done than me and is a high movement... but not by much. We compete in that area.
Considering that 4/1s can often look Type 3 in movement, it makes NO SENSE that we'd be so low on the movement scale. No type 3 would ever be placed that low on the scale. If my combo can outwardly resemble T3 energy, doesn't it make sense that I'd be placed near the Type 3s?
So, basically, I highly disagree that I'm anywhere near as low-energy as I have been placed. Other 4/1s like Jane Olsen, agree with me by the way, that we are not THAT low energy, not even close. I mean, we are the people with T4 focus, but with S1 overdrive! That super high S1 energy, gets funneled into very specific goals. We're Type 4s with a few extra tanks of gas. We don't tire out. We have S1 at our disposal. We do ALL THE THINGS. Okay, we do all the things ONE AT A TIME, but we rapid-fire get them done.
Change the damn chart, Carol! (Like she's going to listen to me lol)
Anyway, after all that, there was the Friday night social/dance party, where I debuted THIS special item:
Shout out to Yoshimi Unosawa for taking this awesome photo, by the way! I'm not sure I'd have any photos otherwise! You can always count on Type 2s to be thoughtful!
Here are a couple more photos of me and the T4 ladies before I sign off!
