I am definitely alone today. With me. Just me.
I am not even on the same continent as my husband or kids, or anyone I care about right now. I had one moment where I felt overwhelmed and sad. I decided that publicly crying was terribly gauche, so I went back to the hotel and drank the best Cote du Rhone they had in the bar. Paris was not a good choice for spending Valentine's Day alone, but hey, chocolate and wine at least, right? I was asked to take photos of a young man, who proposed to his girlfriend on the Pont Neuf. I don't know how I felt.
I did find a rose taped to the door for me, from a wonderful Norvegienne, Migle, who worried I might feel too alone.
For those of you who are also feeling very alone this Valentine's, don't. You are good company. Spend time with you, because you fucking rock.
