This is a VERY casual outfit for me, but every now and then, I have to do that awful thing where I actually go hang out with people, lest they think I hate them. I call it "social maintenance", and I don't know why my friends insist on interrupting my hermiting. I mean, just because I ignore your texts and set all my calls to go to voicemail doesn't mean I HATE you... entirely...
But, since I do actually want to have friends (in spite of my sometimes appallingly antisocial behavior), I occasionally go to events I don't want to be at, for the sake of maintaining a few of my relationships that matter.
Why can't be people be low-maintenance?
This outfit was what I wore to an annoying, socially obligatory BBQ this past weekend. My husband made a comment that wearing a flower print kimono top was "super Asian" of me (oh noes, the stereotypez!), but that thing is really comfortable and breezy, and probably the closest thing I have to wearing pajamas outdoors (brand is Kut from the Kloth, which I received in a Wantable fashion subscription box). I paired with a basic white tee (from Elizabeth & Clarke), and my awesome metallic wax-coated shorts (R13). The necklace is from the Dressing Your Truth store (from the Type 4 section of course), and the red shoes are Seychelles, from Gilt. I've got links to my favorite stores and fashion resources on the right of my blog, for those of you who want to check it out! I am not sponsored or paid, I only link to places I actually like and shop at.
